Season Six, Episode 8: Reckon

The code word is LaFleur.
To make it believable
throw in too much sunshine,
too many mai tais. I’m the
smoke thing, LaFleur.
Back to tracking to find
the bodies. Furrow your brow
enough and it’ll stick. Your sad
sunflower in the cold apartment
hallway. Your shining badge.

Season Six, Episode 7: Dr. Linus

OK, I’m listening.
There’s a clearing. You said

“candidates.” How many
are there? I remember that thing

breaking in half like it was
only yesterday. Napoleon on Elba

was perhaps the result of oversleeping.
That was his island. This is my gift.

Season Six, Episode 6: Sundown

Lessons in orchestration:
Sayid asleep, then a hand
coming into the frame:
indicate violas, recorded
as rectangles rather than circular
notes: for each glissando wait
and think: silence is better:
I have an idea and it might involve
torture: or torches: and again,
just to let it breathe: then
cluster out to credits.

Season Six, Episode 5: Light House

Claire doesn’t look full of darkness to me.
More like bedraggled. Having fun finally,

carrying a gun instead of a baby. Dirty about
the face and hands. That’s what comes of chasing

ghosts. It’s an old school way of traverse.
Trekking through. Wielding that ax like a pro.

Season Six, Episode 4: Substitute

I guess I’d better put some pants on.
At this point I can no longer say that I’m lost.
What I am is trapped. A hole in the cliff.
Rocks on the scale and the scale tipping.
The names etched in real good.

Season Six, Episode 3: What Kate Did

I think about running.

Reminiscent of electricity

like some kind of torture.

A branding as it nears skin.

I watch Kate’s body move

through the playground,

gun in hand. I keep forgetting

what year it is. Who is where.

What changes you.

Season Six, Episode 2: LAX (Part 2)

Lets not resort to name calling.
Back again to no English. Try me
in any foreign tongue. Twin
references to the cross. Sayid lifted
from the water to return. As a representation.
And against an ancient pattern. This is
a resurrection in the Ladies Room.
It’s good to see you out of those handcuffs.

Season Six, Episode 1: LAX (Part 1)

Does he see
the new gray
hairs? The wound

on his neck.
A mystery.
The whiteness

of the screen.
He thought he
could save her

by pulling on
the metal. But
there’s LA

approaching
from below—
coming up

to meet us
as the tires
touch down.

Gently.

Season Five, Episode 17: The Incident (Part 2)

I don’t speak destiny. Who truly understands a blessing?
The French for “wounded” is “blessé”. Enough room

in the back seat of this taxi for you and me and this guitar case.
I am blessed. I am most definitely not changing the future

which is just the beginning of a long journey of dying.
Are you with me on this? It’s about to happen.

Season Five, Episode 16: The Incident (Part 1)

There are only
so many things
that can be fixed

or carefully combed
through the loom.

Pulling back
the wedding veil
we hide in plain sight.

And how to detonate it.
Perhaps it can’t be

dropped. Held or cradled
as one would a baby.
